Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Master’s degree from a nationally accredited institution in education or a related field required.

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an educational setting required.
  • Effective and professional written and oral communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision with numerous groups across the College, within the public school systems, and within state and regional groups required. 
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 
  • Generally works in a traditional climate-controlled office environment and requires the ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 10 pounds required. 
  • Work environment can be stressful at times in dealing with a wide variety of challenges and deadlines.
  • In addition to regular office hours, position sometimes requires overtime and/or evening hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Community college experience, experience working with high school populations, and/or experience in student services preferred.

Position Description

SUMMARY

 

OPEN UNTIL FILLED - Review of applications will begin 5/26/22

Responsible for serving as the College’s representative to the Early College programs and fostering the development of positive relationships between the higher education partners and the LEA by bridging communication gaps and supporting dialogue.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Serve as liaison between the College and the Early College.
  2. Assist in the development and refinement of four/five-year plans of study combining secondary and postsecondary work.
  3. Work with secondary and postsecondary staff to ensure coordination of high school and college schedules that allow access to required coursework
  4. Assist secondary staff with the coordination of postsecondary registration.
  5. Coordinate administration of college placement tests and assist with the application process.
  6. Facilitate the Early College Advisory Committee.
  7. Coordinate yearly MOA development for Early College.
  8. Assist with the coordination of collaborative staff development activities for Early College and College personnel.
  9. Teach Academic Studies courses.
  10. Serve as an academic advisor to students as assigned and participate in advising training and professional development.
  11. Educate the College and the community about the Early College programs.
  12. Collaborate with secondary and postsecondary accessibility service staff to ensure proper student support
  13. Participate in continuous communication with the College’s faculty with regard to student performance
  14. Coordinate progress report activities twice per semester.
  15. Participate in College committees.
  16. Represent the College at events for prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, and other individuals to promote and market Early College and College programs, including student/parent information nights.
  17. Establish and maintain an active role on the assigned high school campuses in order to recruit prospective students, including developing a consistent schedule for visits throughout the school year.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Educational Partnerships.
  19. Assist with events and activities at the Early College as needed.
  20. Maintain and correctly manage confidential information in accordance with FERPA regulations.
  21. Maintain a high standard of professionalism in representing the College including confidentiality in all aspects of the position’s responsibilities and adherence to policies, procedures, and other established guidelines.  Adhere to professional accountability and accept responsibility for managing situations and problems.
  22. Work cooperatively with team members and colleagues, contributing positively and constructively to the achievement of team and College objectives and provide a high level of service to customers by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and partnerships. 
  23. Perform other related duties incidental to the work herein described.
