Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressively responsible work experience in an education related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference is given to applicants with experience working in higher education. Bachelor’s degree in a Social Science field (including Higher Education Administration, Adult and Community College Leadership, College Student Personnel Services, etc.), or any related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressively responsible work experience in an education related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Position Description
The Education Program Specialist is responsible for providing data requests for presentations, monthly reports, conducting surveys, and responding to frequently asked questions on federal performance reporting, and data questions regarding the NC State Assessment Manual, and coordinating short term special projects related to data or workforce partnerships, and or as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/AND ABILITIES: Experience working with data reporting standard tools and/or software such as Excel, Access, LEIS, the NCCCS Performance Dashboards and Datatel/Colleague, etc. Knowledge of Basic Skills program policies, procedures, and reporting rules. Knowledge of the National Reporting System for LEIS. Action oriented, integrity, accountability, good customer service skills, collaboration, ethics, values, and trust. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple work priorities and complete projects. Ability to develop and deliver online, in-demand training across multiple functional areas. Ability to listen and troubleshoot issues and complete tasks independently and within timelines.
PREFERENCES: Preference is given to candidates with at least four years of experience with data collection and reporting and or adult education.
