DEFINITION:

 

The Director of Educational Partnerships is responsible for building strong partnerships with local school district teams to serve students in ways that create and promote innovative pathways to postsecondary degree attainment or skilled level credentials. The Director plans and implements processes that enroll high school students in curriculum and workforce programs and courses that lead to certificates, diplomas, degrees, industry certifications, and/or entry-level jobs skills. Collaborate with campus, student, academic affairs and workforce development disciplines to provide consistent and excellent student-focused service, leadership, and support. Manage, develop and provide community and college-wide training on Career & College Promise policy, procedure, practice, and promotion. Build new dual enrollment opportunities for school districts and for CFCC.  Coordinate with deans, department chairs, faculty, and workforce development staff to develop and implement courses and programs tailored to meet the training and development needs of companies related to areas of job creation, productivity enhancement and deployment of technology. The Director of Educational Partnerships ensures that dual enrollment policies and procedures are developed and administered in compliance with college, NCCCS, NC State Board of Community Colleges, and other regulations. 

 

 SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

  • Receives administrative direction from the Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management 
  • Exercises direct supervision over the NC Career Coaches

 

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

 

ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

 

Essential Functions:

 

K-12 partnerships:

 

  • Strengthen and build relationships with private schools and other educational entities within New Hanover & Pender Counties to promote a “college-going culture.”
  • Create, maintain, and audit MOU’s with each of our Local Education Partners that follow CFCC, NCDPI and local school board policies.
  • Develop, implement, and audit practices that provide equitable access to coursework for all students and all partners. 
  • Maintain and improve concurrent enrollment information pipeline to high school partners. Recruit and conduct presentations regarding Career & College Promise, Dual Enrollment, and post-secondary opportunities to students, parents, and communities.
  • Develop, maintain and increase pathways to credentials and degrees accessible to students while enrolled. 
  • Collaborate with school district and College personnel to lead efforts to ensure appropriate assessment, accurate placement, intrusive advising, and ongoing support of concurrent enrollment students in a manner that enhances the likelihood of success.
  • Coordinate and assist other career and technical education staff, including individual high schools and Career Coaches, with various events and activities throughout year (employer exploration days, career fairs, etc.).
  • Ensure the completion of all required paperwork completion of registration process for qualified students. Includes a strong focus on maintaining accurate electronic and paper records for all concurrent enrollment students. 
  •  Monitor student progress throughout courses/pathways.
  • Assist in orienting student to CFCC and the necessary tools to be successful.
  • Engage partner schools with ongoing dialogue to improve working relationships and program parameters.
  • Attend all meetings appropriate to the assigned position, including participation in any relevant state level workgroups and taskforces.
  • Ensure that dual enrollment policies and procedures are developed and administered in compliance with college, NCCCS, NC State Board of Community Colleges, and other regulations. 
  • Serve as a liaison between students and faculty to clarify issues and problems involving CCP students; recommend corrective action as necessary to resolve complaints.
  • In conjunction with the CCP Coordinator, work with college department chairs and deans to schedule college classes for Career and College Promise Program students.    
  • Cultivate relationships with Pender and New Hanover County school districts to expand and optimize the CCP, Early College, and post-secondary opportunities for all students.
  • Comply with all reporting mandates for the NC Career Coach grant, as necessary.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as needed.

 

Joint Agreements with Colleges/Universities - Working with key college officials, the incumbent will: 

  • Serve as a liaison between the college and collaborating colleges and universities.  
  • Maintain documentation for joint agreements to ensure compliance with SACS and NCCCS standards and policies.   
  • Participate in local and statewide meetings involving partnerships with senior institutions.   
  • Maintain and publish up-to-date information on joint agreements that allow current students or graduate the opportunity to enroll in a four-year degree program offered, in part, on the campuses of CFCC.      
  • Provide guidance for faculty and students involved in the early college high school programs.

  • Modern principles and practices of community college administration.
  • Organizational and management practices as applied to the planning, analysis and evaluation of programs, policies and operational needs.
  • Fundamentals and practices of budget preparation and administration.
  • Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation.
  • Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations.
