3. Valid NC Driver’s license.

Position Description
Western Piedmont Community College (WPCC) is accepting applications for two (2) Educational Resources Facilitators for the federal TRIO Educational Talent Search (ETS) program. These positions are 100% funded by a grant from the Department of Education in conjunction with WPCC. The goals of the TRIO Talent Search program are to help students achieve their dream of going to college by persisting in school, graduating high school, entering postsecondary education and completing a degree. Requires occasional evening and weekend work hours.
Under the direction of the ETS Director and the Dean of Student Services, the Educational Resource Facilitator (ERF) will conduct Project services and activities for approximately 350 participants in assigned schools.
- Identify and assist Participants who have potential to succeed in higher education.
- Assess the qualifications of referred students and determine eligibility for participation in the ETS Project.
- Collect academic and personal information on referred students.
- Maintain data and records of all services provided to Participants in the Project.
- Assist in arranging, coordinating, and/or conducting activities necessary for achieving the Project’s objectives.
- Prepare, submit, and respond to all requests by the ETS Director for record keeping.
- Provide mandatory services to ETS Participants in their respective schools regularly.
- Make Parent/Teacher contacts on behalf of the ETS Participant as necessary.
- Maintain positive relationships between WPCC and BCPS staff, as well as other local agencies.
- Ability to work flexible hours during specific programming events that take place outside of the normal work day, including travel and extended overnight trip activities. Personal travel utilizing one’s own vehicle is necessary at times as well as some overnight travel for staff development.
- Perform other duties as needed, e.g. supervise groups in cultural, career and educational exploration opportunities, etc. at the direction of the ETS Director.
