Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a High School Diploma from an Accredited Institution or equivalent education experience, 15 years documented field work and 5 years of supervisory experience as a Foreman or higher.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates Degree and Class A CDL

Position Description

The incumbent will have the following duties & responsibilities:

  • Assist with program development, improvement, evaluation, and recruitment
  • Assist with selection of textbooks, instructional materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Prepare lesson plans, course overviews, and course syllabi
  • Plan projects for hands on experience (e.g., climbing techniques, working with live electricity, fall restraints, maintaining balance)
  • Deliver effective instruction that uses a variety of instructional techniques to assist students in developing Electrical Lineman skills
  • Evaluate student progress and provide appropriate feedback
  • Maintain inventory and submit request for ordering supplies
  • Continuously develop professional expertise in industry-specific topics through attendance and participation at conferences and industry events
  • Maintain cleanliness of class/grounds/lab areas
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and accessible files, records, daily attendance, and other paperwork/reports
  • Submit attendance records, reports, and grades in compliance with RCC policies and procedures
  • Effectively handle work environments and conditions that involve working closely with others
  • Perform other tasks as assigned which support the mission and vision of RCC

Public Relations

  • Maintaining intra-institution relationships with members of the Board of Trustees, administrative personnel and other employees of the college.
  • Providing appropriate liaison support with the North Carolina Community College System, Robeson Community College and other relational entities.
  • Participating in activities that promote and enhance the college’s image among its various public.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of NCWorks Customized Training and Workforce Director, Senior Director of Continuing Education and Workforce Development, Executive Vice President, and/or the President of Robeson Community College.
