Position Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Electrical License instructor responsibilities includes but are not limited to: classroom instruction, examination preparation and grading, while preparing students for a rewarding career in the electrical field.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  • Provides students with hand on training as well as textbook training as needed to succeed in the electrical field
  • Demonstrates mastery of plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures based on job specifications and local codes
  • Ability to use a variety of tools or equipment such as power construction equipment,  measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment such as ammeters, oscilloscopes, or test lamps  
  • Provides knowledge in electrical codes, residential and commercial wiring, blueprint reading and OSHA safety
  • Ability to instruct adults, maintain a classroom, documents attendance, and submit pertinent, end of course paperwork
  • Processes skills inspecting electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustments or repairs, and to ensure compliance with safety codes 
  • Maintains all necessary documentation such as student’s attendance record, NCCER forms, etc.
