Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in a health related field with five years of experience performing EKG’s in a health care setting is required.  

Preferred Qualifications

An American Society for Clinical Pathology certification with experience teaching adults in a classroom and online is preferred.  A National Career Readiness Certificate and bilingual are preferred.

Position Description

The position duties include providing effective instruction in teaching the anatomy and physiology of the heart and principles of EKG.   The instructor will teach students how to recognize dysrhythmias, sinus, junctional/atrial rhythms, heart blocks, bundle branch block and ventricular ectopic rhythms; teach students to read and interpret EKG’s in compliance with appropriate state and national agencies, mandated curriculums, program guidelines and hospital and association regulations.  Additional duties include evaluating each student in the operation of the EKG and maintaining academic and attendance records as required.
