Position Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Primary operational responsibility for customer service delivery at the NCWorks Career Center particularly for application and eligibility process with WIOA Title I Adult/Dislocated Worker Applicants. Responsible for assisting customers with eligibility inquiries; determining program eligibility; and managing information and referral processes. This position will assist in facilitating successful participant engagement and learning activities and modeling positive and professional behavior.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provide individualized assessment of work, family and personal development needs and opportunities for
Adult and Dislocated Workers
- Build professional one-on-one working relationships with participants to assist in eliminating challenges
that are hindrances to obtaining and retaining employment
- Create application in the NCWorks system for customers who have provided all required documents
to determine eligibility
- Determines customer eligibility, provides program orientation, and completes objective assessment and
initial Individualized employment plan and assigns eligible customers to Career Navigator
- Collects and Scans documents in NCWorks Online System to ensure all documents for determining
participant eligibility are correctly uploaded and tagged in the system
- Communicate with customer regarding their eligibility status and collects missing documents
- Participate in team initiatives and provide assistance to other staff and management to achieve work goals.
- Serve as staff in the NCWorks Career Center and cross-train to achieve Integrated Service Delivery goals
- Assist in facilitating workshops on job readiness, resume creation and review, and preparation for
interviewing
- Model positive and professional behavior
- Demonstrate positive interactions with clients, staff and community representatives
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree; or
- Associate Degree and two years of experience managing data and customer interactions; or
- An appropriate combination of education and/or experience

- Bilingual in Spanish
OTHER RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts
- Demonstrate telephone, computer and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and experience working with the public.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
