Position Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:    

Primary operational responsibility for customer service delivery at the NCWorks Career Center particularly for application and eligibility process with WIOA Title I Adult/Dislocated Worker Applicants. Responsible for assisting customers with eligibility inquiries; determining program eligibility; and managing information and referral processes. This position will assist in facilitating successful participant engagement and learning activities and modeling positive and professional behavior.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:                                                                                                                                         

 

  •     Provide individualized assessment of work, family and personal development needs and opportunities for   

    Adult and Dislocated Workers

  •     Build professional one-on-one working relationships with participants to assist in eliminating challenges

    that are hindrances to obtaining and retaining employment

  •     Create application in the NCWorks system for customers who have provided all required documents

    to determine eligibility

  •     Determines customer eligibility, provides program orientation, and completes objective assessment and

    initial Individualized employment plan and assigns eligible customers to Career Navigator

  •    Collects and Scans documents in NCWorks Online System to ensure all documents for determining

   participant eligibility are correctly uploaded and tagged in the system

  •    Communicate with customer regarding their eligibility status and collects missing documents
  •    Participate in team initiatives and provide assistance to other staff and management to achieve work goals.     
  •    Serve as staff in the NCWorks Career Center and cross-train to achieve Integrated Service Delivery goals
  •    Assist in facilitating workshops on job readiness, resume creation and review, and preparation for

   interviewing

  •    Model positive and professional behavior
  •    Demonstrate positive interactions with clients, staff and community representatives
  •    Other duties as assigned

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; or
  • Associate Degree and two years of experience managing data and customer interactions; or
  • An appropriate combination of education and/or experience

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts
  • Demonstrate telephone, computer and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and experience working with the public.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
