Minimum Qualifications

Required:  Associate's degree in Emergency Medical Science or related field. EMS Level I Parametric Instructor Certification in North Carolina or National Registry Parametric.  Teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Emergency Medical Science.  EMS Level II Parametric Instructor Certification in North Carolina or National Registry Parametric.  Teaching experience in higher education.

Position Description

Support the Mission of the College and the departmental mission and goals.  Provide excellence in teaching and learning through a variety of instructional methods in both Curriculum and Continuing Education and use of relevant technology.  Maintain knowledge of new developments in one's respective discipline.  Analyze program data to determine gaps in student performance, enrollment, retention, etc. Use data to make informed decisions. Keep the administration informed about matters affecting the welfare of students, faculty and the institution. Attend local, state and national meetings geared toward andragogy, the academic discipline, enrollment and retention, student support resources, etc.  Keep the program's curriculum competitive and up-to-date.  Actively recruit at least 5 CE or CU students per semester (Fall/Spring).

Excellent teaching and communication skills.  Knowledge of all state requirements for Emergency Medical Services to ensure operational compliance.  Outcomes oriented.  A strong work ethic.  Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.  Adaptable and flexible.  Attention to detail and accuracy.  Customer Service orientation and interpersonal skills.  Enthusiasm for working and internal and external constituents.  Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and prioritize work. Projects professional image.  Punctual.  Speaks clearly, sensitively, and persuasively when interacting with stakeholders. Supports the aims, objectives, goals, and mission of the college.
