Position Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:
 
Under the supervision of Director of Emergency Services Training, this position provides the assistance of fire rescue, EMS training and law enforcement in-service. The program assistant will be responsible for student registration, grading, data entry, and timely reporting.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains high standards of accuracy in exercising duties and responsibilities
  • Maintains good rapport with Emergency Services program instructors on behalf of the Director
  • Takes immediate action to correct error or deficiencies that occur in Law Enforcement and EMS training
  • Ensures compliance with criteria outlined in third party accreditation standards
  • Assists with internal audits in order to ensure compliance through quality record keeping
  • Proctors exams at local fire departments
  • Provides monthly summary reports and updates to directors
  • Maintains good rapport and communication with college personnel, third party credentialing agencies, and advisory team members
  • Participates on various committees
  • Provides grading and data entry associated with end of course examinations and reporting
  • Provides administrative support to Director, specifically with instructional contract review, data entry, and grading
  • Interact and communicate effectively with various groups and individuals to include the President, Vice President, college supervisors, business office staff, vendors, students, sponsors, grantors, state personnel, and external auditors
  • Routine communication and scheduling with students for exam retakes
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office Experience
