Minimum Qualifications
Required: Master's degree in English, or a Master's degree and 18 graduate credit hours in English. Degrees and coursework must be from a regionally accredited institution. A minimum of two years full-time teaching experience is required. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff, students, and others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in English
Preference will be given to applicants with community college or university teaching experience in English, and to applicants with experience working with online course management systems (such as Moodle).

Example of Duties
- Seeking qualified candidates to teach curriculum English courses in both the University Transfer and Associate in Applied Science degree areas.
- Courses will include, but are not limited to, Developmental English 002 and 011, Writing and Inquiry, Writing/Research in the Disciplines, American Lit I & II, British Literature I & II, Creative Writing I &II, Introduction to Poetry, African American Literature, and Intro to Journalism, Writing for Mass Media and Feature/Editorial Writing.
- Other tasks will include developing course plans, assignments, and tests; identifying and assessing student learning outcomes; teaching according to the college load formula; advising university transfer students; attending faculty meetings; serving on college committees; holding office hours; continuously improving instructional quality by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods techniques, and delivery methods.
- Carrying out other duties as assigned by the college.
- Maintaining accurate records of student work and attendance; grading and returning students’ work in a timely manner.
- Work hours may include day, evening, and weekend hours.
- Classes may be seated, hybrid, or online. Seated and hybrid classes may be located on ACC's campus or at local high schools.
- This position will begin in August 2024.
