Blue Ridge Community College has full time position opening for the position of Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator. The purpose of this position is to fulfill the requirements of the NC Community College System Environmental Health and Safety Contract. This position will be based in Raleigh, NC at the NC Community College System Office.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Science Technology or related field required.

Experience:
A minimum of three years’ verifiable experience at a professional level in an environment and position or positions that are specifically related to environmental safety and health.

Knowledge and Skills:
Will possess strong personal and professional integrity, effective verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to safety. Knowledge of NC Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and NC Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) standards. Ability to train individuals in safety and environmental health topics. Use of Microsoft Office products Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Physical Demands:
The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
