Requires completion of high school or GED; one (1) year of experience in a related field; valid state driver’s license; knowledge of custodial equipment (vacuum cleaners, mops and mop buckets, dust mops, high dusters and floor maintenance equipment); ability to read and understand label instructions on various chemicals.
Skilled in written and verbal communications.
Monitor the evening custodial staff and inspect custodial work being performed; communicate any custodial daily priorities, supplies, schedule as necessary; cleans, dusts, sweeps, mops and disposes of trash in the campus buildings according to assigned job schedule and needed areas; clean and restock all paper products, soaps, and sanitize daily in all bathrooms; attend to janitorial needs daily (food or dirt on floor, wet floor signs placed at entrance when raining or for any other spill calls that may arise); event set-up and post-event breakdown and clean up; keep check on building entrances, trash and custodial equipment is properly returned at the end of shift; assist maintenance help desk when needed; maintain professional appearance at all times.
