Position Description
The part-time evening receptionist is responsible for answering the phone, greeting and directing visitors and students, as well as performing necessary clerical duties and various college-related tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist visitors/students
- Answer phone inquiries and direct incoming callers appropriately
- Respond to callers/visitors/students with general knowledge of Mitchell Community College and the Mooresville Campus
Related Responsibilities:
- Follow detailed instructions to register continuing education students and receive payments
- Distribute and sell textbooks to students
- Provide photocopying and word processing support for instructors
- Fill copier machines with paper as needed
- Reserve rooms and appointments on computer program for the Mooresville Campus
- Balance cash and secure safe
- Perform clerical duties and various college-related tasks as assigned
Surroundings/Environment:
Standard office environment (indoors with moderate noise).
Physical Effort:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to maintain a stationary position for an extended period; move about the office, operate and position computers, as needed; and frequently communicate with students. The employee may occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
Scheduling:
3:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Occasionally, the employee may need to work other hours, which may include day shifts.
Travel:
Local travel may be required for training.
