  • Must maintain a workplace that is both personal cordial and professionally appropriate.
  • Must be prepared to lead mandated emergency protocols.
  • Acts as a team player when working with all employees of the College.

Working in community college environment with Staff / Faculty and Students.

Position Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:

This part-time 20 hour position is responsible for evening and weekend operation of the Southport Center. Special emphasis on customer service, student interaction, retention work, safety protocols, inventory, and general cleaning / organizing.   This position will report to the Southport Center Director.  

SSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates Southport Center (nights and some Saturdays) in the Directors absence – touring potential students, registering new students, returning calls, emails, and assisting existing students with navigating the facility.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe environment, including room checks, safety protocols, and locking doors / coding building. 
  • Partners in the development of night classes and weekend workshops, especially in using social media to recruit participants.
  • Answers phones and takes messages.
  • Operates copy machine.
