Minimum Qualifications
• MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited program
Preferred Qualifications
· Professional experience in an academic library
· Demonstrated experience providing reference and Information Literacy instruction in an academic library setting
· Strong service orientation with excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills
· Bilingual
· Demonstrated experience using various communication/instruction/design tools (social networking, Camtasia, LibGuides, Adobe Photoshop, etc.) to design tutorials, guides and promotional materials for students, faculty and staff
· Demonstrated knowledge of technology trends, standards, and issues in academic libraries and higher education
· Experience with regional accreditation

Job Description
The Evening/Weekend Information Services Librarian is a full-time 12-month position. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Library Services, the Evening/Weekend Information Services Librarian is responsible for providing reference services in-person and online; for the identification, evaluation, integration, and instruction of print and electronic information resources and new technologies; for participation in the Library Liaison program; for the oversight of the SPCC Library Website, and to help develop the Library’s presence in the online course management system. Must be self-directed, well-organized, and be able to meet deadlines and multiple demands. Flexibility, creativity, energy and the ability to work in a dynamic Learning Commons environment with colleagues in a goal-oriented library program is necessary. The position will require evening and weekend hours, and travel between multiple campuses.
Job Duties
· Provide thorough circulation, reference and research services to students, faculty and staff utilizing physical and electronic resources
· Provide Information Literacy instruction and technology literacy instruction to both seated and distance learning students
· Collaborate with faculty to develop and present library programming
· Participate in collection development and collection weeding
· Recommend equipment, hardware, and software purchases
· Positively promote library services internally and externally
· Actively participate in team meetings, campus activities and positively and professionally represent the library in the college and the community
· Participate in maintaining the Library’s existing online content, and assist in developing new content
· Compile statistical reports
· Maintain professional expertise through SPCC’s professional development program and other professional development opportunities
· Understand the SACSCOC requirements and assist in ensuring compliance
· Exhibit an uncompromising commitment to student learning
· Perform other duties as assigned
