Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Performing Arts, or a related field and two years of work experience in event management and administration. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and possess an artistic vision, excellent communication skills and computer skills, and a passion to promote the mission and vision of the College.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Performing Arts, or a related field and five years of related work experience in event management and administration; practical experience in contract negotiation; experience in various sound, mixing, and lighting applications.
Position Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Keihin Auditorium, Atrium and Box Office, and other facility rentals, including preparing contracts, scheduling and use.
Maintain ECC-Event Calendar for scheduled events in McIntyre and Keihin Auditoriums, Mobley Atrium, Cummins Conference Room, and kitchen.
Make recommendations for procurement and maintenance of house equipment and necessary materials for success of the facility.
Plan, develop, schedule, and promote the Edgecombe Performance Series and Keihin Auditorium for the benefit of Edgecombe County citizens that represent diverse audiences.
Advertise the Performance Series through various avenues including, but not limited to, the college website, brochures, area newspapers, and radio and television ads.
Identify and cultivate prospective donors, seek grant funding, and solicit corporate gifts.
Handle the logistical needs for all events including, but not limited to, lights, sound, set up, custodial services, and security.
Negotiate with agents of performers and oversee all artist contracts.
Act as liaison between booking agents, performers, and technical staff for events held.
Schedule, coordinate, and maintain a technical crew for events.
Complete rental contracts for the Keihin Auditorium, Mobley Atrium, Cummins Conference Room (152), Kitchen, and Center for Innovation Multi-purpose Room.
Monitor budget and expenditures of facility rentals and Performing Arts.
Monitor content on the college website and update as needed for the Performances Series and facility rentals.
