Position Description

Responsible for all selection, negotiating, contracting, programming, logistics, and communication with all artists appearing at MerleFest. In addition, support Walker Events Specialist with Walker Center programming.

o Responsible for all booking, contracts, scheduling, credentials, hospitality, Hotel, travel, and all detail associated for all artists and production for MerleFest.
o Provide supporting role and consultation for contracting Walker Events and School shows once committee has selected shows and obtained a verbal agreement.
o Responsible for artist and production database management and execution for all WCC Events, festivals, school shows, development events, etc.
o Responsible for input of all hotel data into Festival Planner.
o Responsible for gathering all promotional materials (artist bios, photos, etc.) for all artists and forwarding to Marketing for developing promotional pieces per timeline.
o Works with school system to coordinate festival outreach programs in the schools for MerleFest.
o Contract judges and emcees for all events. Ensure Emcee announcements are current and correct.
o Assists in selection, ordering, and sales of products for artists related sales; and assists with on-site management of merchandise sales in MerleFest mall.
o Assists with development of music projects and new technology (i.e. WNCW, etc.) to support MerleFest and WCC events.
o Represent WCC Events at selected professional conferences, concerts, festivals, etc. to network and search for talent as directed by Executive Director.
o Monitors and reports to Executive Director on artist relations issues and trends from web and other forums.
o Serves as captain of the MerleFest Programming Team.
o Responsible for leading schedule for production meetings to advance all Walker shows.
o Serves on Walker Events team and other teams/committees as designated by Executive Director.
o Other duties as specified by supervisor.
