Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree; demonstrated coursework in life science, chemistry, regulatory, or food science related programs; five years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Five years of Community College experience; demonstrated experience with Life Science companies, the NC Biotechnology Center, or experience providing workforce development programs in biotechnology industry; experience working in a cGMP environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, virtual platforms, and the use of internet resources. Willingness to learn and expand knowledge base.
Position Description
~THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE STATE HUMAN RESOURCES ACT (EPA) per GS 115D-3~
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This position reports to the Associate Vice President and serves as the Executive Director of BioNetwork and the primary contact for biotechnology-related business and industry including assisting NCCCS Regional Customized Training Directors and local community college customized training directors or coordinators with life science companies who have qualified for the Customized Training Program; promotion of the state’s customized job training and other workforce-related services; support of the BioNetwork Industry Advisory Board; coordination of BioNetwork involvement in national and international meetings and conferences; solicitation of additional BioNetwork funding streams; and the support of BioNetwork centers and staff. Additionally, this position will work with other members of the NC Community College System Office to accomplish specific education and training objectives relative to NC Community College’s guiding goals (Student Success, Student Access, and Program Quality).
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: A high degree of knowledge and skill in the area of industry-specific technical training; including training needs and job analysis, program delivery, instructional design, adult education principles, evaluation, training transfer, economic and workforce development expertise, and the NC Community College System and its program offerings and capabilities. Maintain knowledge of related programs and policy procedures to effectively support the initiative. Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to lead and motivate others toward a common goal.
