Minimum Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree in business, communications, marketing or related field required.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.  
  • Strong computer skills, website management, proficiency with graphics and media software required.
  • Social media and advertisement marketing experience preferred.  
  • Position requires working at a persistently helpful level with members of the general public as well as faculty, staff and students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree is preferred. 

Position Description

Sandhills Community College seeks applications for Executive Director, Bradshaw Performing Arts Center.  

Reporting to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, the Executive Director of the Bradshaw Performing Arts Center (BPAC) oversees the operations of BPAC that includes Owens Auditorium, Evelyn’s Courtyard, McPherson Theater, and the McNeill-Woodward Green.  Work closely with the Foundation on donor relations with Foundation board members and members of the community to develop strategies for long-term philanthropic support of BPAC. Works with the Chair and faculty of the Fine Arts Programs to assist in providing student learning opportunities in theater and fine arts experiences through BPAC events.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Management of the Audiovisual staff (1 full-time direct and 2 indirect full-time reports).
  • Management of BPAC part-time front-of-house staff to assist will all SCC sponsored and some outside events, this includes ticketing, will-call, ushering, and concessions.
  • Management of part-time BPAC Ticket Office staff member(s) as well as oversight of overall ticketing of SCC sponsored events.
  • Responsible for developing a seasonal performance plan for BPAC and booking performances on behalf of Sandhills Community College through direct or third-part agencies and coordination of the fulfilling all contractual obligations with performers. Expected to be present and available for SCC sponsored performances.
  • Develop and maintain an effective marketing strategy, providing graphic design materials to multiple media outlets, social media, and the BPAC website.
  • Maintain BPAC website, ensuring that the upcoming events are added in a timely manner and are accurate. Responsible of any general maintenance of the site and technical support
  • Management of concessions in Owens Auditorium - Responsible for maintaining an ABC permit on behalf of the College and adhering to all necessary policies and procedures for serving alcoholic beverages.  Ordering and maintaining inventories by developing relationships with food and beverage vendors.  Ensure proper handling of cash and credit cards with reconciliation procedures for 2 point-of-sale registers.
  • Act as college liaison to the Ruth Pauley Lecture Series serving on the RPLS Program Committee to help with speaker selection and venue reservations/logistics.
  • Act as college liaison responsible for maintaining relationships with established BPAC Partner Organizations within the community.

Foundation

  • Work collaboratively with Foundation staff in planning all donor-attended functions at any of the 4 venues.
  • Develop and maintain donor relations with Foundation board members, focused on the relationship between BPAC and the College.
  • Work with Foundation staff to implement a “Friends of BPAC” on other giving programs designed to provide long-term support of the performing arts at SCC.
  • Develop a program to recruit front-of-house BPAC volunteers from the community.
