Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher. Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a United States Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC.
• Five years of experience in accounting.
• Three years of management or supervisory experience in accounting.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in business administration.
• CPA certification.
• Five years of supervisory experience in accounting.
• Five years of experience in governmental accounting.
Position Description
The Executive Director, Financial Services will direct all fiscal and financial reporting, preparation, and accounting for all budgets; maintain complete and accurate financial records for the College and for audit purposes; and oversee all Financial Services functions.
• Oversee accounting and reporting for all College expenditures and receivables.
• Coordinate and complete year-end audit and financial statement preparation
• Ensure that all financial functions are performed in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, maintaining complete and accurate records for audit purposes.
• Supervise all departmental functions for Financial Services including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow control.
• Plan and schedule workflow to ensure that all financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Direct all close-out procedures for year-end reporting and auditing, and issue periodic financial, operating, and statistical reports.
• Ensure all receipts are recorded in proper funds.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Directly supervise employees in the Financial Services Department and other part-time personnel as needed.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; feedback and corrective actions; addressing issues and resolving problems.
