Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field and six (6) years of experience in Human Resources with two (2) years of experience in specific HR function.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business administration, human resources management, public administration, organizational development, or industrial psychology.
  • Certifications – Process improvement, agile or lean process management

Position Description

The Executive Director of Human Resources will assist with administering the operational HR functions for College employees, including employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, and other employee services. The Executive Director will also review HR policies and procedures for changes; and assist with Title IX, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, and workers’ compensation issues.

In conjunction with the CHRO, this position will serve as the champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion and work within the college to promote those efforts. The Executive Director of Human Resources will work in close consultation with the CHRO to ensure a positive workplace where employees can do their best work.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1) In conjunction with the CHRO, provide interpretation, advice, and technical direction on all human resources programs/activities to ensure college is compliant with labor and employment law, including managing internal investigations, EEOC/DOL claims, government/state audits, lawsuits, updating and managing employee handbooks, etc.

2) Actively participates in, the handling of employee relations issues e.g., coaching and counseling employees, assisting with disciplinary processes, handling sensitive employee issues.

3) Identify specific training programs to help employees maintain or improve job skills.

4) Acts as the Deputy Title IX coordinator assists with Title IX compliance training. Reviews and further develops Title IX and other civil rights policies and procedures as related to current HR procedures/practices.

5) Researches, develops, recommends, and executes creative strategies to foster the colleges diversity, equity, and inclusion work.

6) Reviews current practices and policies, assessing and analyzing the extent to which they support or hinder the college’s diversity goals.

7) Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, and/or consultation with managers.

8) Design, plan, organize and direct orientation and training for employees.

9) Supports the employment process, including processing applicants, analyzing applicant information, applicant screenings, recommendations to hiring manager on hires and working with managers with onboarding.

10) Conduct training sessions to inform and educate managers on a variety of topics.

11) Analyzes compensation and benefits. Reviews trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive performance and pay programs to ensure the college attracts and retains top talent.
