Minimum Qualifications

• High School or equivalent
• Valid NC Driver’s license, with a good driving record
• Three to five year(s) experience of mechanical, carpentry , industrial, building maintenance, equipment operator, general maintenance or other related experience
• HVAC experience a plus but not required

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of: Basic methods, materials, and equipment required for the maintenance, alteration, repair and operation of building systems; ability to maintain records and to prepare requisitions and job orders; ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with college staff and faculty.
Ability to use a computer and essential software applications such as building management systems, email, work order software, preventive maintenance software, and some word processing is required. Basic proficiency in the use of a computer and essential software applications such as email and some word processing is required.

Preferred Qualifications

A certificate, AAS, or AS degree in a related area is desired.

Position Description

 

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking 2 Facilities Services Technicians II who has knowledge and expertise in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems maintenance and repair, performs a variety of skilled maintenance work to repair, and remodel College buildings, facilities, electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and fixtures; as assigned. Employee will safely operate College vehicles and equipment; practices safe work processes and contributes to the creation and maintenance of a safe working environment for self and others. This is a Tier I job position.
