Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or 5 years of practical experience in Custodial Supervision.
  • Five years commercial/industrial/educational/business facility or related cleaning experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree.
  • Seven years of custodial supervisory experience.
  • Five years commercial/industrial/educational/business facility or related cleaning experience.
  • Direct work experience using pressure washers, shampooers, buffers, scrubbers, forklift, steam cleaners, or other commercial equipment.

Position Description

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:  The Facility Services Department provides cleaning, maintenance, equipment/building repairs, renovations, upkeep of grounds, fleet management, office/classroom moves, events and activities needed to support campus objectives. Facility Services is responsible for supporting the needs of the students, faculty and staff by providing a comfortable, clean and fully operational environment. The Facility Services Custodial Supervisor is under the supervision of the Facilities Operations Manager and is within the Facility Services Department. This is a working supervisor position and performs at the independent level in making safety decisions, cleaning and supervision of assigned staff. This position will work a modified 3rd shift schedule and may occasionally be required to attend training or scheduling meetings during daytime hours.

 

DUTIES:

  • Coordinates the task assignments for the daily cleaning of all campus buildings and property to meet the campus standards.   
  • Trains one on one, new employees in the prescribed techniques of completing the work assignments including the incorporation of safety measures, security, and policy. Also provides written and verbal instructions for cleaning safely with chemicals and equipment to new and existing housekeeping staff.
  • Assists staff members in performing custodial duties daily.
  • Checks appearance of all areas to assure they are performed in a prescribed fashion and performs routine area inspection reports that are submitted to management.
  •  Maintains Housekeeping inventory including requisitioning chemicals and supplies, costs analysis, consumption reports, and makes recommendations to the Facilities Operations Manager for budgeting of new or replacement equipment.
  • Distribution of supplies necessary for housekeeping.
  • Oversees the recycling program including pick-up, containers, and contractual services as they apply to recycling. 
  • Coordinates moves, set-ups, events and off campus procurement.   
  • Maintain warehouse in organized manner for the best distribution of housekeeping supplies, maintenance supplies, equipment rentals and check-out.
  • Responsible for quoting, purchasing, inventory, storage and distribution of housekeeping supplies and equipment. 
  • Effectively delegate automated work orders as handed down from the Facilities Operations Manager to appropriate team member and follows-up on the completion of assigned duties.
  • Performs routine safety inspections of facility including eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, AED’s, chemicals, etc. 
  • Assist with items such as, campus security, inclement weather events, HVAC, room moves, building access, etc, as needed.
  • Collaborates with campus security and information center to provide campus-wide communication and implementation of safety procedures in an emergency.
  • Performs other task which cannot be readily foreseen or anticipated as requested by the Facilities Operations Manager.
