Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The Bachelor’s degree is not limited to a Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy.
- licensed occupational therapist (OT/L) or occupational therapy assistant (OTA/L) by the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy.
- Documented expertise in areas of teaching responsibility.
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as an OT/L or OTA/L.
- Documented teaching experience (could include post-secondary, fieldwork educator, full-time, part-time, or adjunct).
Preferred Qualifications
- Occupational therapist (OTR/L)
- 3+ years teaching in an OT or OTA program
- Experience as a Fieldwork Educator
- Experience with occupational therapy assistants
Position Description
The Faculty, Academic Fieldwork Coordinator is employed by RCCC with the expectation that the college is the primary employer. The Faculty – Academic Fieldwork Coordinator is a full-time faculty member who is a content specialist in a specific area of instruction and is expected to demonstrate a visibly active role in maintaining the assigned content area as well as all fieldwork duties in a comprehensive, current, and responsible manner.
The Faculty – Academic Fieldwork Coordinator has responsibilities delegated by the Program Chair of the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program, and is responsible for the program’s compliance with all fieldwork education requirements. The Faculty – Academic Fieldwork Coordinator is expected to maintain high standards of professionalism in assuring that at least 40 hours per week is spent in the performance of these responsibilities and duties.
