Qualifications Required:
Associates Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Computer Integrated Machining
Two (2) years of relevant industry experience as a machinist/toolmaker
Experience with Haas CNC controls
Two (2) certifications from the National Institute of Metal Working Skills or ability to earn these within one year
Preferred Qualifications
Qualifications Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field
Work experience in an advanced manufacturing setting
Teaching experience in a community college or related work experience
Experience with online instruction
Journeyman card
Experience with Cadcam

What you'll do on a typical day:
A full-time faculty position at Davidson-Davie Community College is a nine-month position, with the faculty member's primary efforts focused on teaching and learning, academic excellence and student success. In addition, a faculty member is responsible for engaging in professional development and promoting the College mission, vision, and values.
Faculty employed by the College are responsible for the following:

- facilitate student learning to meet the requirements of a changing global economy;
- are inspirational, providing clear expectations for students regarding learning goals, course policies and assignments;
- encourage students to engage in critical thinking, reflective reasoning, problem-solving, collaboration and application;
- help students understand how course content is relevant to them and their community throughout their lives, preparing students for enhanced career and educational opportunities;
- foster a collegial and dynamic process in which faculty share and learn strategies and approaches focused on improving student learning; and
- infuse a culture of assessment of student learning into the instructional environment to inform improvements in curriculum, pedagogy, resources and student success.
- Teaching at various instructional sites and in multiple delivery formats as needed to meet the scheduling needs of students and programs.
