Minimum Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Information Technology or a related degree. Must have at least two years’ experience working in the medical field as an office professional. Experience teaching in a college environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare management related subject, with certifications in medical coding and billing. (Certified Professional Coder, Coding Billing/Coding Specialist, etc.).  Microsoft Office Specialist. 

Experience teaching online with Blackboard, managing student records and information with Colleague, and communicating with students through Navigate.

Position Description

The Healthcare Management Technology instructor is a full-time faculty member responsible for conducting assigned day, evening, and/or weekend classes at the North Campus, South Campus, and the Cabarrus Business and Technology Center, and any other satellite campuses. The instructor is responsible for maintaining instructional quality and effectiveness through constant and timely revisions of course elements and syllabi to meet program needs and for keeping accurate and timely records as assigned. The instructor is responsible for assisting in the recruitment and retention of students, advising students, and developing recommendations on course content and course offerings in assigned areas. Instructors may be appointed to serve on various institutional committees and study groups and will be responsible for development of classroom and online courses as assigned and selection and recommendation of instructional materials and textbooks. The instructor will also be responsible for other duties as assigned. (9 month full-time position)
