RESPONSIBILITIES:A full-time faculty position at Davidson County Community College is a nine-month position, with the faculty member's primary efforts focused on teaching and learning, academic excellence and student success. The PNE program is approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON).  In addition, a faculty member is responsible for engaging in professional development and promoting the College mission, vision, and values.  Faculty employed by the College are responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining professionalism in the DCCC community.
  • Becoming involved in the culture of the College through participation in College initiatives, activities and committees.
  • Adhering to all College policies and processes.

    • facilitate student learning to meet the requirements of a changing global economy;
    • is inspirational, providing clear expectations for students regarding learning goals, course policies and assignments;

    • help students understand how course content is relevant to them and their community throughout their lives, preparing students for enhanced career and educational opportunities;

  • Ensuring timely, consistent, and feedback and accurate record keeping in support of student success.
  • Fostering equity and respect for diversity among students with a focus on student learning.
  • Integrating appropriate instructional technology and instructional materials to enhance student learning outcomes and promote student success.
  • Engaging collaboratively with colleagues by using data-informed decision-making to continually improve courses and programs.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the College to identify and provide appropriate resources that promote student learning and completion.
  • Maintaining currency in one's teaching discipline and in the issues of higher education.
  • Teach at various instructional sites and in multiple delivery formats as needed to meet the scheduling needs of students and programs.
  • Participate in activities necessary to maintain program requirements for NCBON.
