Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent; Excellent soft skills including strong interpersonal skills, a cheerful and enthusiastic personality, and a high level of flexibility, adaptability, cooperation and initiative; Attention to detail/accuracy; Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills; Strong work ethic essential. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, experience with databases, and proficiency in keyboarding and data entry. Must have the ability to multi-task and work as part of a team. Experience in a fast-paced office environment. Work experience in financial aid or other student services; Work experience and/or coursework related to accounting, bookkeeping, or data entry.
Preferred Qualifications
A.A.S. degree in Office Administration, Business Administration or related area; Experience working in a community college setting; Bilingual in Spanish.
Position Description
Example of Duties:
- Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff in the Financial Aid Office.
- Provide pertinent financial aid information to students, faculty, and staff.
- Assist students with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Import FAFSAs daily from the Department of Education.
- Scan student information and documentation using a document imaging system.
- Prepare, review, and respond to student correspondence (email, phone calls, etc.)
- Schedule financial aid advising and workshop appointments.
- Facilitate FAFSA workshops for students and prospective students.
- Process incoming and outgoing financial aid documents.
- Resolve and/or troubleshoot student issues regarding overpayments.
- Assist the Director/Assistant Director with financial aid related duties and projects.
- Maintain office supplies and print requests.
- Other duties as assigned.
