Blue Ridge Community College is currently seeking applications for a full-time Financial Aid Technician. The Financial Aid Technician is primarily responsible for all of the electronic processes and file management of the department, as well as providing financial aid assistance to prospective and enrolled students.

Education:
Associate’s Degree, required; Bachelor’s Degree and/or experience in administering financial aid programs at 2- or 4-year schools preferred

Experience: All persons must provide verifiable and relevant professional experience in a work-place setting or demonstrated instructional/teaching environment.

Knowledge and Skills:
The employee will possess strong personal and professional integrity, good verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to safety.

An understanding of and commitment to the ‘open door’ philosophy of the community college.

Maintain an enthusiastic, self-reliant, and self-starting approach to meet job responsibilities.

Ability to work well independently as well as within a team environment with students, faculty, and staff in order to implement the mission and objectives of the college.

Ability to multi-task to meet the demands of walk-in students or incoming calls.

Microsoft Office computer skills and the ability to use the College computer information system with attention to detail and accuracy.

Physical Demands: The ability to perform all duties associated with the position, including by not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operation or performing work with associated tools and machines.
