Minimum Qualifications

Blue Ridge Community College is located in Flat Rock, North Carolina; Henderson County. Presently we have an opening for a full-time Financial Aid Assistant II. The Financial Aid Assistant II serves as assistant to the Director of Financial Aid and the Financial Aid Coordinator and provides clerical and technical support for the Financial Aid Office.

 

Education:
Associate’s Degree, required; Bachelor’s Degree and experience in administering financial aid programs at 2- or 4-year schools preferred.

Experience:
All persons must provide verifiable and relevant professional experience in a work-place setting or demonstrated instructional/teaching environment.

Knowledge and Skills:
The employee will possess strong personal and professional integrity, good verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to safety.

An understanding of and commitment to the ‘open door’ philosophy of the community college.

Maintain an enthusiastic, self-reliant and self-starting approach to meet job responsibilities.

Ability to work well independently as well as within a team environment with students, faculty, and staff in order to implement the mission and objectives of the college.

Ability to multi-task to meet the demands of walk-in students or incoming calls.

Exceptional computer skills and ability to use the College computer information system with attention to detail and accuracy.

Physical Demands:
The ability to perform all duties associated with the position, including by not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operation or performing work with associated tools and machines.
