Minimum Qualifications
An associate’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in accounting or a closely related field and two years of increasingly responsible general clerical experience including one year of accounting, clerical, or related experience. Communication, both oral and written, skills are necessary. Must have expert efficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word). Applicants not meeting the minimum requirements will not be considered for this position.

Announcement Summary
Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this full-time position. The ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, resolve student issues and work well with others is critical to experiencing success in this position. Expertise in effectively communicating information and providing excellent customer service is essential to this position. Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
Duties
Perform duties in a manner that represents exemplary customer service both to the general public as well as College staff and personnel.
Process financial aid awards, input data, assign account codes, make adjusting entries, and balance assigned funds and accounts.
Assist in the Financial Aid Service Center and telephone queue by providing information to students in person and by phone.
Inform and explain College policies and procedures to students and/or general public relating to financial aid.
Participate in researching complex problems and discrepancies in records.
Respond to difficult requests and inquiries for information from faculty, administrative staff, and students regarding account dispositions.
Practice good customer relations skills in meeting students needs.
Maintain various accounting records and reports for the College’s financial aid program including grants, loans, and scholarships.
Prepare applicable financial aid reports related to assigned area of responsibility.
Conduct account analysis and reconcile differences.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
