Position Description
Financial Analyst, Senior position available in the Services Corporation Department located on Central Campus. The successful candidate for this position will provide financial support for Services Corp. the work schedule is 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday with an anticipated start date of July 2021.
Overview of Department:
Service Corp supports the financial operations of the Central Piedmont Community College Services Corporation (Services Corp), the college and/or its component units by performing accounting tasks.
General Function
Supports the financial operations of the Central Piedmont Community College Services Corporation (Services Corp), the college and/or its component units by performing accounting tasks
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
1. Analyzes and reconciles financial information for a multimillion dollar budget organization.
2. Coordinates the preparation of the annual budget by working with the Executive Director Service Corp, Harris Conference Center and Project Managers in year-end.
3. Manages more than 40 accounts; prepares journal entries and serves as the primary liaison for specified units of the Services Corp.
4. Invoices and enters A/R for various units and prepares related aging reports.
5. Fulfills weekly, monthly and annual accounting duties, such as creating part-time rate schedules and Purchase Orders.
6. Assists with facilitation of contracts with external entities and independent contractors.
7. Assists with the annual audit; works directly with an external accounting firm.
8. Prepares and files monthly sales tax returns, the annual checklist for an external accounting firm in preparation for the IRS Form 990.
9. Compiles and presents periodic financial reports to management and potentially the Services Corp Board.
10. Advises project managers on accounting policies and procedures; creates proforma financials, answers inquiries and resolves complex financial issues.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Characteristics
● Self-motivated and independent learner.
● Knowledge of GAAP and GASB as well as college and component unit standard business practices
● Knowledge of and proficiency in using and administrative information system, preferably Datatel Colleague
● Advanced computer and spreadsheet skills
● Excellent oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on the ability to communicate financial information
● Ability to communicate effectively and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
● Excellent customer service skills
● Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments, adapting to changing priorities and situations, and follow-through on completion of assignments
