Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree in Spanish or French or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in either Spanish or French required.

Preferred Qualifications

Community college or post-secondary teaching experience preferred. Online teaching experience using platforms such as Moodle or Blackboard is preferred.  

Position Description

The Foreign Language instructor is responsible for teaching an average of 18 hours of foreign language classes per semester.  Instructional duties include teaching day and evening courses that range from basic to advanced levels of foreign language. Site classes meet on the main campus and at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and the college also offers online courses in advanced levels of foreign language. Responsibilities include on-site and online instruction; course development where applicable; computer lab supervision; college transfer student advising; timely submission of reports; participation in assigned committees; participation in committee textbook selection; service in the College Transfer Academic Advising Center;  participation in required special events including faculty meetings, orientation, and graduation; recruitment activities; participation in planning processes; and adherence to achieving learning outcomes.
