Education Minimum:  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Informational Technology, Education or closely related field. Have at least three years of experience in teaching, training, counseling or testing; or college-level coursework in those fields. Not be involved in high school equivalency instruction.

Experience Three years of experience in a postsecondary environment, preferably in Basic Skills. Specific experience with Datatel/Colleague software and student record’s management. Experience working with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of students.

Position Description

Summary

Coordinates and administers all standardized testing necessary for Academic and Career Readiness including, but not limited to, TABE, CASAS, HiSET, GED and TASC. Ensures accurate and timely reporting of post-testing data and separation of HSE completers in Colleague. Conducts all new student orientation sessions for Academic and Career Readiness. Organizes all marketing and recruitment efforts.

 

 Knowledge & Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Serves as a point of program entry for students and coordinates student recruitment efforts through multiple marketing venues – in person and online  
  • Creates, updates and reevaluates master files for incoming student pathways – postsecondary and/or career readiness; meets with students individually for file creation and updating; provides appropriate referrals; communicates with faculty on individual student goals
  • Administers all standardized testing including, but not limited to: TABE, CASAS, HiSET, GED and TASC (day and evening, as needed). Ensures updates for computer-based testing are immediately installed 
  • Maintains testing security and confidentiality of all standardized exams in compliance with federal, state and publisher guidelines
  • Coordinates and conducts all new student orientation sessions for Academic and Career Readiness.
  • Schedules and places students in classes while maintaining accurate data reports of current class sizes and enrollment numbers. 
  • Enters all posttest data into Colleague and publishes detailed placement reports (XLARC) for faculty members daily 
  • Attends all necessary trainings to maintain standardized testing certifications and serves as the college’s official HSE administrator for the NCCCS. Maintains an accurate record of testing administrator’s certifications and provides training as needed 
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to customer service and excellent interpersonal communication and problem solving skills. 
  • Assists in training Basic Skills personnel with identifying, defining and fulfilling data needs and training Basic Skills faculty on program changes and changes to data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Provides annual graduation ceremony assistance through the compilation of eligible HSE graduates, FERPA releases, assembly of the graduation program and ceremony procedures 
  • Provides training, guidance and oversight for part-time testing administration staff members 
  • Conduct investigations into test compromises and testing irregularities; follow ETS policies and procedures for reporting these irregularities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Supervises 2 or more part-time testing administration staff members.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.       

 

Computer Skills                    

  • Ability to retrieve data from student information systems.
  • Proficient in Computer programs: Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Informer, and Colleague.
  • Knowledge of modern office equipment including computers and printers.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

  • Maintains state and publisher credentialing for, but not limited to TABE, CASAS, GED, HiSET and TASC.
