Education Minimum: Bachelor’s in Instructional/Educational Technology, Instructional Design or closely related degree.
Experience Minimum: Two (2) to four (4) years’ experience that includes managing and supporting online learning and educational technology, including at least one year of supervisory experience. High level of competency with learning management systems (i.e., Blackboard, Canvas, etc). Experience in providing professional development/training.

Position Description
Summary
Under general direction, this position provides strategic leadership for the college’s learning management system, the Jaguar Office of Learning Technologies (JOLT), STUDIO T, and the LIVE Teaching Studio. Employees in this classification perform administrative and instructional work, develop and teach courses in the appropriate discipline, and are responsible for general oversight of staff.
Knowledge & Responsibilities:
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversee and administer of all major functions of the College’s Learning management system (Blackboard).
- Review the unit’s programs and services to determine innovative methods of using new and existing technologies to improve student learning.
- Assess and facilitate the delivery of faculty development needs related to technology use in classrooms.
- Oversee inventory management of classroom and other designated instructional technology equipment.
- Ensure efficient operations of student & faculty support services.
- Supervise and evaluate staff members to ensure professional development and operational effectiveness.
- Evaluates emerging technology and assessment tools, and guide senior academic leaders on strategic and operational decisions involving instructional technology hardware, software, and programs.
- Develops collaborative relationships between Information Technology dept and college departments to create useable business solutions.
- Applying tested instructional design models, theories, practice, and methods.
- Determine professional development SLOs and align them to appropriate learning activities and assessments.
- Identifies, evaluates and applies appropriate tools and techniques to best deliver universally designed interactive content in a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, multimedia on a variety of devices.
- Promote and support the integration of technology into credit and non-credit courses to improve student engagement.
- Serve on college committees as needed.
- Establish and evaluate educational technology policies, procedures, and processes.
- Manage relationships with vendors and third-party service providers including managing contracts.
- Comply with all SACS, SARA, and/or accreditation criteria as required.
- Assist Associate Vice President with the development of operational and capital technology budgets.
- Manage the department’s online teaching certification program.
- Assist in the planning, compiling, and submitting of proposals, reports, and other appropriate materials related to educational technologies and online education.
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the Associate Vice President may designate.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise and a evaluate all personnel within the area of responsibility, supervise workload and timely execution of tasks, provide training and resolve conflicts. Ensure that reporting personnel have annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the college, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.

Technical & Computer Skills
- Demonstrated experience with Blackboard hosting solutions and knowledge of SIS integration.
- Demonstrated experience with a wide variety of classroom technology including Interactive monitors
- Basic experience with Advanced System Reporting (ASR) and query building using MySQL.
- Ellucian Colleague scripting experience a plus
- Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Proficiency with video editing tools (Camtasia, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro)
- Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (Storyline, Captivate)
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills
A complete knowledge of Microsoft Products as used in overall management in an educational environment is required. Experience creating training using various authoring tools. Experience with online course delivery systems such as Blackboard.
