Position Description

The LRC Director plans and develops an effective learning resources program that supports the mission of Halifax Community College. He/she is supervisor of two full time LRC technical positions and three part time positions. In addition, he/she is supervisor for any HCC student workers that are employed through Financial Aid work study or PRIDE work study.

The Director is responsible for the LRC’s collection development; policy creation and implementation; managing the budget; providing instruction for classes and/or HCC instructors; maintaining an environment conducive to learning; representing the LRC within the college, community college system, local community, and general public; reporting IPEDS yearly, and upholding SACSCOC standards.

Support the College Strategic Plan, Assessment, IE, QEP, and SACSCOC Requirements/Principles.

Support retention and advising.

The Director maintains appropriate annual professional development opportunities for professional growth.

Other duties as assigned.
