Minimum Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Economics from a regionally accredited college or university
Or
• A Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Economics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in teaching at post-secondary level is preferred

Position Description

Teaches university transfer courses in Economics to students in a variety of formats, including online, hybrid, and seated. Courses include Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics. This is a full time Economics Instructor position and requires the faculty member to teach at least 18 hours per semester.

• Receives general supervision from the Chair, Social Sciences
• Exercises no supervision, but may mentor newer faculty.

• Provide classroom and/or virtual instruction to students
• Prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activities
• Develop courses according to college design on the common Learning Management System
• Coordinate adoption of textbooks with other faculty
• Develop and prepare supplement materials to enhance lectures
• Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance; grade and record individual scores
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance
• Maintain and submit all required paperwork in a neat, accurate and timely fashion, including but not limited to: class rosters, registration forms, pay sheets, attendance forms and grade rosters
• Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures related to required teaching area and in accordance with CFCC policies and guidelines
