Position Description

Summary
The Senior Admissions Specialist will manage and facilitate admissions processes, ensuring the quality of application data processing, as well as coordinating communication efforts to applicants.

 

Knowledge & Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Builds and delivers admissions correspondence through all modalities (texting, email, and phone).  Works to maintain consistency of messaging within the admissions team.
  • Leads the admissions specialists in planning admissions workflows, procedures, and projects.
  • Collaborates with the First Year Experience staff to plan and carry out strategic messaging and recruiting plans for potential students through the college admission process.
  • Collaborates with the Admissions, Testing, and Placement Coordinators to clean, manage, and maintain clean student records and consistent student messaging through communication management.
  • Manages admissions related state and federal reporting queries in conjunction with other college departments.
  • Serves as the JCC liaison to the College Foundation of NC (CFNC); Manages and updates the admissions application as well as its import and data transfers.
  • Serves as an admissions liaison on various college projects and team, as well as NC Community College system advisory boards.
  • Communicates with prospective applicants regarding admissions procedures and policies.
  • Processes applications and transcripts.  
  • Performs data entry and imaging within electronic student records.
  • Imports applications and processes new data entering a student record.
  • Reviews applicant data for SAT/ACT scores, placement test, and credits to determine the need for placement testing.
  • Communicates with other college departments to ensure best practices, efficient workflow and integrated student services.
  • Ensures compliance with all State Residency and International Student policies.
  • Ensures compliance with all FERPA regulations.
  • Maintains and updates admission records and student files.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
