Education Minimum: Associate’s degree
Education Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
Experience Minimum: One (1) to three (3) years’ experience. Knowledge working with IRS documents, US Citizenship documents and any eligible non-citizenship document that qualifies someone for federal grants and experience with managing education grants, preferred.
Experience Preferred: Experience with managing education grants.
Assists with the implementation and administration of grant funds received from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) - Student Emergency Aid through the American Recovery Plan (ARP) 2021. **This is a full-time temporary grant funded position through May 2022.**
Knowledge & Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Assistant Director of Financial Aid and Director of Financial Aid with implementing the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) – Student Emergency Aid through the American Recovery Plan (ARP) 2021 grant which includes but is not limited to collection of applications, selection of applicants in accordance with ARP regulations and required reporting of data.
- Be the primary point of contact for students regarding the HEERF ARP 2021 grant and any future HEERF grants related to the Covid-19 pandemic the college may receive.
- Be a liaison between students and college staff, collecting documentation that the college may require for the HEERF ARP 2021 grant or any future grants and scholarships related to the Covid-19 pandemic the college may receive.
- Contact students directly via phone regarding data collected in the HEERF application.
- Conduct direct outreach to financial aid applicants about the opportunity to receive a financial aid adjustment due to the recent unemployment of a family member or independent student, or other circumstances, described in section 479A of the HEA and must document:
- The manner and extent the direct outreach the institution conducted to financial aid applicants, and;
- Amount spent on the activity (staff time and awards
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Financial Aid or Director of Financial Aid in relationship to federal emergency grant awards.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Colleague, OnBase, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
