Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution required.
  • Three years of successful and progressively responsible management and leadership experience in an organizational development role.
  • Background in workforce development, economic development, training, and/or continuing education.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service required. 
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with diverse constituencies required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Five years of successful and progressively responsible management and leadership experience in an organizational development role.
  • Background in workforce development, economic development, training, and/or continuing education.
  • Community college experience
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service required. 
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with diverse constituencies required.

Position Description

  • Provides leadership and oversight of all college non-credit workforce courses and programs and applicable credit programs as determined
  • Participates as a member of the Executive Leadership Team to provide input and implement initiatives in coordination with other Executive Leadership Team members.
  • Ensures that all core requirements and comprehensive standards required for accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) are met.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with external business and appropriate 
  • Serves as institutional liaison to external business and appropriate community organizations 
  • Coordinate and supervise the Internal Continuing Education  (other applicable areas) Audit of the College.
  • Serves on various college, local, and state workforce, continuing education, and economic advisory councils.  
  • Oversees the annual budget process to include planning, prioritizing, development, monitoring, allocation oversight, monitor expenditures; coordinate budget priorities to ensure that College goals are met
  • Embraces growth and innovation of the Division; implement emerging technologies, economic development initiatives, and opportunities for new workforce and community programs that support the College’s mission and goals; maximizing college resources and providing benefit to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Assist in the identification and pursuit of grant activities which will further the mission of the College.
  • Engages in strategic planning at all levels to support institutional advancement.
  • Ensures compliance with NCCCS standards, policies, and procedures pertinent to Continuing Education
  • Provides leadership for the recruitment, selection for employment, development, and retention of all assigned full-time and part-time corporate and community education faculty and staff.
  • Makes appropriate policy recommendations to the President related to corporate and community education.
  • Other Duties as assigned by the President of the College.
