Minimum Qualifications
- Associates Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Automotive Technology or Diesel and Heavy Equipment or related field or a minimum of 3 years related work experience

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field
- Teaching experience in a community college
- ASE Certified in Diesel and/or automotive field
- Experience in a professional repair facility
- Class A commercial driver’s license

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Full-Time Faculty, Automotive Technology or Diesel and Heavy Equipment is a full-time position responsible for designing and implementing learning strategies for students; developing course syllabi and instructional materials; maintaining instructional records; maintaining a safe laboratory environment; communicating equipment, and supply needs; participating in College activities and committees; and other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the College. This position reports directly to the Division Chair, Professional and Technical Careers. Faculty, Automotive/Diesel and Heavy Equipment has the following responsibilities:
- Promote College mission, vision and values
- Teach assigned courses at various locations to meet program needs, including, but not limited to day, evening, and weekend
- Ensure that each class session contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency
- Evaluate student progress and provide appropriate, timely feedback
- Provide and/or facilitate quality experiences in the classroom and practical setting to meet program needs
- Develop course syllabi and provide appropriate written information to students concerning course evaluation and criteria
- Incorporate appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learning
- Assist in the evaluation of courses and programs
- Prepare and submit instructional records, reports and grades established by institutional policy.
- Attend appropriate College and School meetings
- Assist in student recruitment and retention
- Maintain accessibility to students, faculty and staff
- Maintain a high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Participate in professional development to enhance instructional and technical skills
- Perform other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College.
