Minimum Qualifications
College-level diploma or higher in Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology or related discipline coupled with appropriate experience in medium/heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair, or a high school diploma coupled with outstanding professional experience in medium/heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair, required.
Preferred Qualifications
Five (5) or more years as a diesel and/or heavy equipment technician and community college teaching experience, preferred.
Position Description
A $4,500 signing bonus will be paid, based upon satisfactory performance and continued employment, in three equal installments. The first installment will be paid in August 2024, the second installment will be paid in December 2024, and the third installment will be paid in May 2025.
This is a nine (9) month position with subsequent summer contracts. Primary responsibilities include development and instruction of courses within the Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology diploma curriculum utilizing current industry standards and practices.
Responsible for both preparing and delivering instruction to a diverse student population using not only various course delivery methods (e.g., seated, online, hybrid, etcetera) but also various course delivery lengths (e.g., 16-week, 12-week, 8-week, etcetera).
Fulfill other responsibilities and duties as a curriculum faculty member and full-time employee, to include but not limited to other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday with a minimum of thirty (30) contact/office hours per week. *Note: working days and working hours may vary, based upon institutional need or programmatic requirements.
Start Date: June 3, 2024.
Salary: Minimum monthly salary is $4,652 with final determination based upon education and experience.
