Minimum Qualifications

Required:

Master's degree in mathematics, or a Master’s degree and 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics.  Degrees and coursework must be from a regionally-accredited institution.  A minimum of two years full-time teaching experience is required. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff, students and others.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants with community college or university teaching experience in mathematics, and to applicants with experience working with online course management systems (such as Moodle) and online homework management systems (such as MyMathLab). 

Position Description

 

Full Time Temporary 

Based on College's salary plan; commensurate with education and experience.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:Seeking qualified candidates to teach curriculum mathematics courses in both the University Transfer and Associate in Applied Science degree areas.  Courses will include, but are not limited to, quantitative literacy, statistics, precalculus, and calculus.  Other tasks will include developing course plans, assignments, and tests; identifying and assessing student learning outcomes; teaching according to the college load formula; attending faculty meetings; and carrying out other duties as assigned by the college.  Work hours may include day, evening, and weekend hours.  Classes may be seated, hybrid, or online.  Seated and hybrid classes may be located on ACC’s campus or at local high schools.  This position will begin in August 2021.
