Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
Education:  Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the fields of communications, business or public administration; or equivalent education and experience.
Knowledge and Skills:  Three years of work experience in the areas of project management, grant proposal development or grant management.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs; excellent customer service; strong oral and written communications skills; must be detail -oriented and comfortable in a multitasking environment; ability to exercise discretion with confidential information; demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people; excellent analytical, organizational, budgeting, and planning skills.
Physical Demands:  Moderate office work on a routine basis, requiring frequent sitting and computer work.  Will occasionally require prolonged standing, stooping, bending, squatting and lifting/carrying up to 30 pounds unassisted.
Licensing Requirements:  Valid driver's license

Position Description

Carteret Community College (Morehead City, NC) is accepting applications for a Grants Coordinator.   The Grants Coordinator facilitates and administers grant sourcing and proposal development; as well as some grant implementation.

Salary Range:  $38,131 to $47,664, commensurate with experirence

Estimated Start Date:  July 1, 2024

Duties include:

  • Collaborate with departments and key stakeholders to assess the College’s needs and assist in identifying and seeking funding opportunities to meet those needs.
  • Actively seek, identify, analyze, and pursue potential sources of additional funding from state and federal government, foundations, business and industry, and other appropriate sources and make recommendations concerning application for potential grants that match College strategies, goals, and search requests.
  • Assist departments with the preparation of grant applications, grant proposals, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
  • Coordinate with Operations & Facilities and the IT Department to review equipment specifications prior to grant submission, ensuring compatibility and addressing logistical challenges.
  • Research/develop, write, and coordinate proposals and related documents required for grant submissions and submit in a timely manner according to grant guidelines.
  • Oversee the execution of documentation related to grant agreements and grant contracts with funding sources.
  • Collaborate with the Business Office to establish grant-specific chart of accounts and facilitate reimbursement processes.
  • Document College implementation of awarded grants and required reporting. 
  • Coordinate, review, evaluate, and audit grants to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with grant closeouts and audits.
  • Provide writing service as needed by the College.
  • Serve on College committees and task forces as assigned.
  • Attend required campus events including graduation, professional development, & employee meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
