Education
Bachelor's Degree required in education, public administration, or other related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.

Knowledge and Skills
Five years of progressively responsible work experience required, to include the evidence of the following: Proven history of successful prospect research, grant development experience with both public and private agencies; Proven record of advancement services; Rich background in conceptualizing and designing projects, programs and initiatives; Exceptional written, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively as a team leader as well as part of a team; Ability to independently initiate, oversee and complete large, complex projects; Advanced word processing, graphics and research skills; Ability to draft clear, concise narratives, correspondence, budgets and other documents; Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other institutions of higher education, schools, and agencies at the local, state and national levels.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in education, public administrtion, or other related field preferred

Position Description

Statement of Primary Purpose
Supports the strategic plan, goals and objectives of the College and its community through: detecting and anticipating promising growth opportunities; aligning and integrating resource development initiatives within an institutional framework; and identifying, securing, mobilizing and deploying resources to advance College driven activities.

This is a professional level grant writer with responsibilities for compliance.

Classification
Program Administrator, full-time, exempt

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership for grants activities of the institution; development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures; assurance of compliance with all applicable regulations; and, researching, developing/facilitating, writing, submission and administration of highly competitive grant applications in concert with appropriate units across the institution;
• Work with College senior administrative staff to identify, anticipate and cultivate promising growth opportunities, integrate initiatives in support of the institutional strategic plan, and facilitate the development of strategic institutional priorities; Collaborate with College faculty, staff and community partners in the development and administration of initiatives, programs, proposals and activities;
• Provide coordination and support to the President's Office related to resource development programs, grants, special projects and strategic initiative development;
• Provide leadership and support for the establishment and maintenance of organizational relationships, partnerships and alliances;
• Ensure the maintenance of centralized file systems for externally funded programs and other activities; coordinate the publication and maintenance of the grants web page and other electronic publications;
• Act as a liaison with appropriate private and public funding agencies and organizations;
• Facilitate the creation and implementation of policy and procedure;

Additional Duties and Responsibilities
• Interact with staff, students, the public, the community, donors, Board members and co-workers in a cooperative, courteous, and professional manner.
• Serve on committees and teams as assigned, and assist with the institution's reaccreditation process.
• Comply with the College's policies and procedures as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual.
• Oversee the preparation of the grant writing and compliance and execute the grant writing and compliance annual unit planning goals.
• Facilitate grant-related professional development for faculty and staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Education

Working Conditions and Environment
Office setting; periodic travel to meet with funders and partners; work hours could be unusual during peak periods, including weekends and evenings to meet deadlines
