Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Graphic Design or related field; 2 years’ experience in a field related to printing and binding operations. Proficiency in design software: Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Publisher, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work quickly under deadline pressures. Must be able to work with groups and individuals representing a variety of special interests, keep detailed records in an organized manner, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment while maintaining multiple projects at once.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a creative, collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or related field; 4 years' experience in Graphic Design; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Publisher; proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud programs.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Design software; Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software; Word Processing software and Project Management software.
Position Description
The Public Information and Marketing Department provides communications, marketing, and public relations services that advance the mission of Alamance Community College. The Department shares information about College programs, events, and activities to external and internal audiences through advertising, media relations, publications production, website management, social networking, and other communications activities. The Graphic Designer will work closely with the Director to design and create the College's marketing materials.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collaborate with the Director and other internal departments to develop ideas for the design of new marketing materials.
- Work to carry out strategic plan initiatives.
- Create both offline and online materials, including but not limited to flyers, brochures, posters, cards, invitations, banners, and videos for web and social media.
- Produce customized graphics, including but not limited to logos, infographics, illustrations, and vectors.
- Maintain and traffic all advertising; send ads to media partners in a timely fashion and ensure that ads run correctly.
- Work with the webmaster in updating the website and making graphic and video improvements.
- Photograph on-campus events and edit photos.
- Record, produce, and edit video content for web and social media.
- Use design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Microsoft Publisher to create flyers, brochures, posters, cards, invitations, banners, annual and other College reports, and newsletters.
- Maintain printing requests of computer graphics for the College's printed materials for recruiting, marketing and website.
- Consult with customers; provide design ideas and produce high-quality products.
