Position Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:

This position performs routine tasks, normally repetitive in nature, required to effectively maintain a peak level of cleanliness and neatness of Brunswick Community College’s appearances and curb appeal.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Landscapes areas for college beautification by planting, cultivating, pruning; plants, trees, shrubs, grass and flowers.    
  • Remove debris from all parking lots; digs trenches for water and power lines and grounds
  • Operates, utilizes and maintains various equipment, machinery and tools including tractors, riding

mower’s, box blade, bush hog, weed trimmer, pressure washer, front end loader, chainsaw. 

  • Sharpens tools, lubes machinery as needed.
  • Shovels snow/ice from sidewalks and spreads salt/sand
  • Performs other duties as required

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School or GED
  • Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds   
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license
  • Ability to perform each duty satisfactorily

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

    -  1-3 years of grounds maintenance experience/or training
