Position Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Women’s Softball Head Coach will work under the general supervision of the Director of Athletics to recruit, coach, promote, and administrate the operation of the Brunswick Community College Women's Softball Program. The expectations of The Head Women’s Softball Coach is to lead a successful softball program whose team members compete with honor and integrity while furthering the growth of the student-athlete and the Athletic Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Head Women’s Softball Coach is responsible for all aspects of the softball program including but not limited to: coaching, recruiting, organizing practice and scheduling of matches, game day preparation, fund raising and monitoring student athlete academic progress.
- Develops positive relationships with faculty, staff, student athletes, media, alumni, and donors while interacting successfully with department personnel and the college community
- Conducts a women’s softball program in compliance with all NJCAA, Region X and Brunswick Community College Athletic Department rules and regulations
- Conducts the women’s softball program in concert with Brunswick Community College’s mission and goals, in which student-athletes graduate and achieve competitive success
- Processes strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Knowledge of NJCAA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes
- Demonstrates successful fundraising skills
- Ability to understand and enforce safety rules and regulations
- Possess a thorough knowledge of the game, a sophisticated understanding of coaching strategies and demonstrate the ability to enhance player development
- Effectively manage the fiscal resources for the women’s softball program
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
