Minimum Qualifications
Must be a registered nurse with an unencumbered license.
- Must be licensed to practice in North Carolina
- Must have at least two (2) years (4000 hours) of experience as a registered nurse in the United States.
Must meet at least one of the following:
- Completion of a course in teaching adults,
- Experience in teaching adults, or
- Experience in supervising nurse aides.
Preferred Qualifications
- DHSR NAI Instructor
- BSN
- 4000 hours of LTC experience
- Community College experience
Position Description
The Health Occupations Instructor – Coordinator provides instruction, leadership, and oversight for Continuing Education programming related to healthcare. At least 40 hours per week are to be spent in the following: direct instruction; preparation and evaluation of instruction; clinical preparation; supply assessment and ordering, accessibility to students; committee assignments; addressing student concerns; advising and service to the college and community. responsible for instruction in the Health Occupations program area, specifically for NAI, NAII, Phlebotomy, and Pharmacy Technician. Must be willing to become certified in Phlebotomy within 18 months of hire and Pharmacy Technician within 12 months of hire.
Faculty will meet the demands of current daily operations. Faculty may be assigned a teaching schedule that includes any college or clinical location, and at times that meet student, program and college needs.
